Our Chauffeur of the Month for November is Stephen in Seattle, Washington, USA! Find out his travel recommendations and what makes him one of our top chauffeurs.
Stephen’s originally from the Dagoretti Market district in Nairobi, Kenya, but have been working in Seattle as a chauffeur since 2003. He also worked at Seattle–Tacoma Airport, which gave him extra insight in how to perfect the art of the airport transfer.
Stephen loves working in Seattle because of the opportunities for him to grow his business and meet people from diverse backgrounds.
Seattle is the hub of North West, with two major ports and lots of cruise ship traffic bringing travelers from all over the globe. If you’ll be visiting the city soon, Stephen has plenty of recommendations.
There is a lot to see in Seattle, like the Underground Tour, where you can walk through the remnants of the old city Seattle was built on top off after the Great Fire of 1889, Chihuly Garden and Glass, a surreal exhibit of beautiful glassworks, and even Duck tours, where you board an amphibious vehicle that both drives on land and floats through the water. Of course, the Space Needle observation deck is also a must-see for newcomers.
When you get hungry, Stephen recommends visiting the first ever Starbucks coffee shop and Pike Place Market for the best fresh seafood, including delicious clam chowder.
With so many travelers heading to different attractions, Stephen’s key is to keep a cool head. “Stay focused, perform your duties to the maximum and above,” he advised.
One situation in which Stephen went beyond the call the of duty was when he had a guest who didn’t speak English, so he quickly downloaded a translating app so they could communicate clearly for the rest of the ride.
