Blacklane is excited to announce a new sustainability partnership with South Pole to bring us to the next level in our green initiatives journey. South Pole develops and implements comprehensive emission-reduction projects and strategies that turn climate action into long-term business opportunities. They have successfully worked with companies, governments, and organizations around the world.
Their team of sustainability advisors, scientists, and engineers left us feeling confident that a joint partnership would lead us to achieving our current and future sustainability goals, which is why we’ll be signing with them on Friday, November 26, 2021. They boast an impressive portfolio of 700+ emission-offsetting projects as well as the protection, restoration, and reforestation of 75,000+ square kilometers of land spanning over the past 15 years.
In Spring 2021, Blacklane signed The Climate Pledge, committing us to becoming net zero with our carbon emissions by 2040. How will we do that? South Pole will keep us on track with regular calculations of our emissions as well as guidance on carbon reduction, such as our commitment to grow our electric fleet. Plus, they will recommend carbon offset projects that translate into measurable impacts for our guests.
In the spirit of this new partnership and stepping into an increasingly eco-conscious role within the travel industry, we want to focus our Black Friday campaign on giving back. The climate crisis is causing devastating impacts on our world, which means there’s no better time than now to take a stand in halting the process of global warming.
