Blacklane’s London investment next step in electrification of global fleet

Blacklane’s recent investment in London’s first all-electric chauffeur service is a commitment to the future of sustainability.

As the first certified carbon offset global car service in 2017, Blacklane has always been driven to lead the mobility industry in terms of sustainability.

Which is why its recent majority stake acquisition of Havn, London’s first all-electric chauffeur service, is a further stepping stone towards bringing sustainable and safe travel options to its guests.

The city of London is the perfect place for Blacklane to continue building on its sustainable practices, not least because of the city’s dedication to an electric vehicle future.

The expansion of the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) into Greater London later this year is an example of the steps currently being taken to improve air quality in the capital.

The city of London.

The ULEZ charges vehicles that don’t meet the emission standards within a selected zone in central London. Only fully-electric vehicles are exempt from any charges.

In addition to the ULEZ, the trial of a petrol-free street in London’s financial district is another indication of steps being taken towards a strong sustainable future in London for its inhabitants.

By investing in Havn, Blacklane will help to grow Havn’s service and offer more zero-emission rides, giving Londoners the ability to make more safe and sustainable travel decisions.

All chauffeurs across the Blacklane and Havn fleets follow COVID-19 health checks by taking their temperatures daily, wearing masks, circulating fresh air between rides and disinfecting vehicles before and after each journey.

These checks help to protect chauffeurs and guests, without compromising on sustainable travel options in the city.

The premium quality Blacklane vehicles are known for has also not been compromised, with the chauffeur company adding the world’s first premium all-electric Jaguar I-PACE performance SUV to its global fleet for the first time.

Blacklane’s Chief Revenue Officer and Director of Havn Sascha Meskendahl said guests in London can have safety, sustainability, and sanitization without compromise.

“With our combined expertise, Havn and Blacklane will provide more zero-emission rides in London and beyond to lead the next era of chauffeured services worldwide,” he said.
