Meet Tina, Our Global Quality & Training Manager

In the newest edition of Meet the Crew, we chat with Tina about her career development, Blacklane experience, and more.

Can you tell us a little about the work you do at Blacklane?

In my role as Global Quality and Training Manager at Blacklane, I oversee service quality across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas. My work involves analyzing data and feedback to identify improvement areas and develop initiatives that elevate our global service standards to new levels. Additionally, I lead internal quality audits to ensure our team upholds our high standards and implement training materials for our Chauffeur Academy to equip our partners worldwide to deliver the exceptional service Blacklane is known for.

Essentially, my role is to work with our partners, ensuring we consistently offer the best luxury transportation experience that Blacklane stands for and that our guests value.

What made you want to join Blacklane?

Blacklane’s company values resonate deeply with me: ‘Be Reliable, Break New Ground, Care, Go the Extra Mile, and Act with Integrity.’ It was a moment of realization for me – these values perfectly aligned with what I was seeking in my next career move. It wasn’t just about the role or the position; it was about being part of an organization that mirrored my personal values. Our CEO summed it up perfectly: ‘Wherever you are around the world, it’s this special feeling of being taken care of.’ This philosophy of care and integrity was evident in every interaction I had with the team, even before joining, validating the authenticity of the company’s values.

Moreover, my passion for the luxury transportation industry played a significant role in my decision. The opportunity to contribute to Blacklane’s commitment to quality on a global scale was an exciting challenge I was eager to embrace. The blend of aligning personal values with professional passion made joining Blacklane an obvious choice for me.

How has Blacklane helped you with your career?

Joining Blacklane has been a pivotal moment in my career, primarily due to the global scope of my role and the increased responsibilities that came with it. Leading a dedicated team focused on quality has provided me with the opportunity to grow and push my limits. Blacklane fosters an environment where I’m continually challenged and encouraged to further develop my skills. This dynamic setting has not only made me stronger and more confident in my abilities but also allowed me to collaborate with highly skilled colleagues from whom I’ve learned immensely.

Overall, it has helped me enhance my capabilities and inspired a continuous learning mindset. It’s been an enriching journey, and I’m excited about the opportunity to keep growing and contributing to our shared success.

How has your experience with Blacklane evolved over time?

Working at Blacklane has been an incredible journey, especially because our team is spread all around the world. Initially, getting to know my team members, their roles, and the challenges they face was both exciting and crucial for building a strong team spirit.

As I became more involved in my role, focusing on ensuring high-quality service, I realized the importance of understanding not just our internal objectives, but also the challenges and expectations of our customers and partners. This broader understanding helped me see the bigger picture and work more effectively towards our goals.

Throughout my time here, participating in various projects and initiatives has significantly broadened my perspective and made my work here incredibly rewarding.

Can you tell me about a project that you’ve been excited to work on?

The Chauffeur Academy has been a particularly energizing project for me. This initiative is a celebration of excellence and a testament to the strong partnership we’ve built with our chauffeurs, some of whom have been with the company for years, if not decades. The Academy is not just about training; it’s a platform for mutual growth, where we emphasize the importance of elevating our service quality together.

Organizing the Chauffeur Academy with the team has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s a chance for us to show our appreciation for our partners’ trust and dedication. One of the highlights is the shared meals, where we get to engage more personally with our partners, listen to their experiences, and gather invaluable feedback. These interactions not only strengthen our relationships but also provide our team with direct insights into how we can continue to improve and innovate.

What do you enjoy about working with Blacklane partners?

I enjoy the sense of pride and professionalism our partners bring to Blacklane.

Making them feel heard, especially during our Chauffeur Academy, is crucial. Celebrating, acknowledging, and treating them with utmost respect is at the core of our values and what I appreciate most about working with them.

What would you like people to know about Blacklane?

I want people to know that Blacklane celebrates diversity and values unique perspectives. Working in such a positive environment, alongside incredibly talented and skilled team members, is truly rewarding.

I would like to give a special shoutout to our Berlin office for providing an outstanding, secure, and cozy space that really enhances our ability to connect and collaborate.

What is the best thing about being a woman in your current work environment?

The best thing about being a woman in my current work environment at Blacklane is how my natural inclination towards detail-oriented thinking seamlessly aligns with my role in quality assurance. This focus on detail is not just an asset but a critical component of our team’s success, enabling me to pursue and advocate for more nuanced approaches and perspectives.

Furthermore, the culture of equality and mutual respect at Blacklane truly stands out, making it a place where I feel completely at ease bringing my A-game every day. This environment encourages everyone, regardless of gender, to excel and contribute their best, ensuring that we all move forward together. It’s empowering to know that my contributions are valued and that I’m part of a team that champions diversity and inclusivity at its core.

What can women do to help support each other in the workplace?

In the workplace, women can significantly support each other by maintaining an open-minded attitude, offering support, and embracing learning opportunities from one another. We are equally capable, skilled, and knowledgeable, possessing the same level of expertise as our male counterparts.

At Blacklane, I’m proud to collaborate with strong, confident, and intelligent women. Just as men often refer to their ‘buddies’ in the workplace, we, as women, should also openly recognize and affirm that we have each other’s backs. It’s crucial for us to vocalize our support and solidarity.
