The eyes of the fashion world will be on the French capital for a veritable feast of fashion and style during Paris Fashion Week 2022.
As Milan Fashion Week draws to a close at the end of February, there’s barely a moment for the trend-setters of the world to catch their collective breath before the beginning of Paris Fashion Week.
With 45 physical shows spread across seven days, and in a city as huge and bustling as Paris, taking care of your day-to-day transportation in advance of your trip is paramount to getting the most out of it.
A trusted Blacklane chauffeur service in Paris means that you’re in the safe and capable hands of a locally-knowledgeable professional. Simply download the Blacklane app and with a few easy steps, you’ll have the pleasure of rocking up to shows in the style and grace demanded by the occasion.
After some added flexibility? When you book an hourly service, you can have your chauffeur for a duration of your choosing, even if your destinations are yet to be decided.
Paris Fashion Week schedule
As the curtain falls in Milan, another rises a few hundred miles to the north. Paris Fashion Week begins on the 28th of February, running through the week until the 8th of March. The schedule has been released in full, so it’s important to have a look before you touch down.
The brand Off-White kicks off the week on the 28th of February with their show, a tribute to visionary designer Virgil Abloh, who passed away toward the end of last year.
Elsewhere, big names Dior, Saint Lauren, and Louis Vuitton will all host shows over the course of the week while The Row – brand of child stars turned designers Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen – returns to the catwalks of Paris on Wednesday. The week closes out with Chanel and Miu Miu, among others, so try to save some energy for the final days.
Where exactly are events taking place?
As usual, the majority of Paris Fashion Week shows will take place in the Carrousel du Louvre, the underground shopping mall in the center of Paris.
A far cry from the type of shopping malls that may spring to mind that dominate American suburbia, the Carrousel du Louvre features the famous skylight known as the La Pyamide Inversée, the underside of the the glass triangle you may know from the front of the Louvre Museum. Glamorous and chic, the venue is synonymous with Paris Fashion Week.
Open-to-the-public events during Paris Fashion Week 2022
As with almost every other event, show, and festival in the world at the moment, the global pandemic has severely limited available places at any of the shows. While physical events are back, they are invite only, and the chances of landing yourself a ticket are slim unless you are an industry insider or established media member.
However, Paris Fashion Week has adjusted accordingly, and almost every event is available for livestream, giving you the opportunity to experience each catwalk in real time, something that was not as easily accessible in 2021.
