Orlando is famous for being the home of Walt Disney World Resort, attracting millions of visitors each year with its popular theme parks and entertainment scene. For those traveling to this exciting destination, Orlando International Airport (MCO) serves as the nearest major airport, conveniently located about 20 miles away—a quick 20-25 minute drive under typical traffic conditions.

Aside from that, Orlando International Airport, located just 6 miles southeast of downtown Orlando, is Florida’s busiest airport and the seventh busiest in the United States. As a crucial hub for Silver Airways, and with significant operations from Avelo Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines, MCO connects a global community to the heart of Florida’s tourism and business sectors.

Beyond its robust domestic service, MCO serves as a major international gateway, offering more than 850 daily flights operated by 44 airlines to 135 domestic and international destinations.

Additionally, Orlando is served by another airport, Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), which is situated in the northeastern suburbs of the city. SFB primarily serves domestic flights, although it also handles some international charter services.

Navigate Orlando airport with ease using Orlando airport maps and our handy guide, designed to help you maximize your time at MCO.

Orlando International Airport is structured around three terminals. It has one main terminal building, divided into Terminal A and Terminal B, and the separate Terminal C, also known as the South Terminal Complex.

  • Terminal A is located on the northern side of the main terminal building. It provides access to Airside 1 (Gates 1–29) and Airside 2 (Gates 100–129) via tramway systems.
  • Terminal B occupies the southern side of the main terminal building and connects passengers to Airside 3 (Gates 30–59), Airside 4 (Gates 70–99), and Terminal C via tram systems.

Both terminals are on opposite sides of the same building, making it easy for passengers to walk between them on Level 3. For those on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level (Level 2) or Ground Transportation Level (Level 1), it’s possible to return to the Departures Level (Level 3) with baggage to traverse the building.

  • Terminal C handles international flights primarily from non-US airlines and all JetBlue flights. It contains gates 230–245 and is directly linked to the main terminal (A and B) via a pre-security tramway.

Connectivity Between Terminals

  • The Terminal Link operates 24 hours a day, facilitating transfers between Terminal B and the Train Station, and requiring a walk of approximately 1,200 feet through Parking Garage C to reach Terminal C.
  • Shuttle bus services are also available 24 hours a day, with pickups and drop-offs at Terminal C: Level 1 (Ground Transportation) at Space C272 and Terminal B: Level 1 (Ground Transportation) at Space B16.

Transport within the Airport

  • Automated People Movers are essential for moving between the main terminal and the departure concourses. There are two lines on the east side of the main terminal, shuttling passengers to and from Concourses 1 and 3, and two lines on the west side, serving Concourses 2 and 4.
  • A new fifth line has been added outside the secure area, connecting passengers between Parking Garage 3 and the new Terminal C. It’s important to note that all departure concourses in the main terminal are accessed via APM, and there are no pedestrian walkways.
