Dubai is a city known for its luxurious products and is a haven for shoppers worldwide, with many flocking to the city each year to take part in the its annual month-long shopping festival. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the many malls or specialty souks offering up U.A.E. goods and delicacies, there’s plenty of opportunities to take home something unique for yourself or a loved one from one of the many Dubai airport shops across the airports three terminals.

Local delicacies

Al Nassma camel milk chocolate is a uniquely Arabian confectionary, manufactured in Dubai using local camel milk. You can pick it up at a Dubai Duty Free store from Terminal 1 or 3, or pre-order online and collect from the airport. If camel milk is a little too out there, why not indulge in a box of dried dates, a very important fruit in Middle Eastern cuisine, also available at Dubai Duty-Free.

Dubai Airport gold shop

Dubai is a city known for its gold souks, but if you can’t get to the dazzling marketplace, there is a wealth of eloquent jewelry and watch options at Dubai Duty Free, with brands including Bvlgari, Cartier, Tiffany & Co, and Rolex. You can even buy gold bars in Terminal 1 and 3 in the duty-free areas. Gold bars range from 18, 22, and 24 carat.


For the coffee fiends in your life, there’s a range of Arabic coffee pots for purchase at Gifts from Dubai, located on the ground floor of Dubai World City and near Gate D in the departures lounge.

Dubai Airport Shopping – Duty-Free

There’s a range of top-notch spirits, wines, and liquors available at Dubai Duty Free to choose from or stop in at one of the Le Clos stores dotted throughout the airport, where you can engrave your own bottle and sample selected wines and spirits before you purchase them. There is also a wide selection of Cuban cigars available at La Casa de Habano in the Sheikh Rashid Terminal. According to Dubai Duty Free, 11.6 million cigars were purchased between January and September last year. Check duty-free allowances by country here.

You can also spend hours browsing through the isles, immersing yourself in the scents of numerous high-end brand perfumes on offer across the Dubai Duty Free shops. Choose from the classics like Clarins and Lancome or try something new from Givenchy and Versace. Considered the best-selling category at the Duty Free counters, perfume purchases totaled 300 million USD in 2017.

Go in the draw

Aside from souvenirs, fashion, and perfume, guests to Dubai Airport can also enter the draw to win a luxury car. The draw first began in 1989 and is considered the longest running duty-free promotion in the world. The draw is limited to 1300 coupons for the chance to win a BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Porsche, or Audi. There is also a draw for motorbikes, which started in 2002, or the chance to win 1 million USD.

Dubai Duty Free

Where: Throughout the airport

Dubai Duty-Free spreads across the entire airport and is the go-to for electronics, fragrances, cosmetics, gold and jewelry, liquor, tobacco, souvenirs, sports, sunglasses, watches, and much more. DDF employs more than 6000 people and holds 38,000 square metres of retail space at Dubai International Airport (DXB). According to its website, DDF has received 600 awards for its operations since it opened in 1983.
