Our Driver of the Month for August is Éric in Paris, France! Read on to find out more about Éric’s story, and how he adds a personal touch to every ride.
Éric found his way to into chauffeur service after spending 12 and a half years working an office job for an insurance company. He decided he needed a change of pace, so three and half years ago he became a chauffeur.
“I needed to have new fresh air and meet new people!” Éric said.
Éric lives in the city of Colombes, northwest of Paris, and he says it’s the perfect place for an independent driver. It’s removed from the hustle and bustle of France’s capital, but still close to the city and Roissy Airport (Charles de Gaulle).
For passengers touching down at the airport for the very first time, Éric recommends the five most iconic Parisian sights: the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Montmartre quarter, home to the Sacré Cœur Basilica and just a beautiful area to roam around.
Éric truly enjoys living and working in Paris, as there is always something going on in the vibrant city. Plus, even when that vibrancy means more traffic, it’s less of a hindrance and more of an opportunity to really soak in the sights.
“When the road is clear, you can enjoy all the nice buildings and monuments. When the road is busy, you have time to see a lot of the architectural details on the Parisian buildings and enjoy the diversity of people who are living here,” Éric told us.
One of the reasons Éric is August’s Driver of the Month has to do with his amazing attitude. His advice to other chauffeurs is to always remember that for many passengers, you are their first point of contact in your city. As the first Parisian many of his passengers meet, Éric feels a responsibility to put his best foot forward and represent his people in as positive a light as possible, ensuring they start their visit on a high note.
We’re not the only ones who notice the positive impact Éric’s approach has on every ride. Here are a couple of the comments passengers have left after riding with Eric:
“Excellent service. Safe and courteous driver. Amazing vehicle. Total peace of mind. Eric was extremely courteous and escorted us to our check in at CDG… much appreciated.”
Donna S.
“Éric was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport and was so smart and polite, we felt like celebrities. The car was clean and comfortable and we had a very pleasant transfer to our hotel.”
Jane I.
Éric shared his own story of how he went beyond the call of duty. He once had an English passenger who mentioned to him that she had learned a French song from the 1960s in school. Éric took the opportunity to play DJ and put on the song, and the two of them spent the rest of the ride from her hotel to the airport talking about French oldies. Later, she sent him a message thanking him for the unusual ride.
As Éric says, “You can never know how your ride will be when you meet your customer. It’s like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolate!”
Thanks for all the great work Éric, we’re proud be working with you.
