Our Chief Revenue Officer, Dr. Sascha Meskendahl, updates on new hires to his team – Melanie Catling as VP Marketing and Yun Ling as Head of Individual Customers – following international company growth and investment.
Following the recent news of the second closing of our F Series and Sixt’s investment in Blacklane, I am thrilled to share more exciting news as we welcome two important senior members to our team. Together, Melanie and Yun bring a plethora of knowledge on customer experience and accessibility, sustainability and driving growth in the mobility industry, which will continue to further Blacklane’s ambitious goals.
Introducing Melanie Catling, Our New VP Marketing
Prior to Blacklane, Melanie spent two years at Uber as Marketing Director Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, leading the strategy and execution of country marketing plans on Uber Rides and Uber Eats. She brings a wealth of experience in brand, sales and marketing, having built lifestyle brands at local, regional and global levels. She worked on L’Oréal Paris, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire and Grey Goose before moving into the tech space, where she led Brand & Campaign Marketing globally for Candy Crush at King Digital Entertainment.
Her role at Blacklane will focus on marketing strategy and structure, driving growth and awareness of Blacklane’s brand and service offering to a wider audience, and overseeing our creative studio. With her own personal passion and previous experience in driving diversity and inclusion changes and implementing sustainable marketing practices, we’re delighted to see Melanie bring these key Blacklane principles to her work.
Meet Blacklane’s Head of Individual Customers, Yun Ling
Yun joining Blacklane marks an exciting milestone for us, as we launch a new domain, tailored exclusively for our individual customers. Yun will be in charge of providing our customers with the best experience from end-to-end, utilizing customer data to make their Blacklane journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
Starting his career as an engineer, Yun joins us from Lyft, where he spent six years developing and launching markets and new products. Yun played a key role in expanding Lyft’s offerings prior to and after its IPO. In addition to his extensive industry expertise and experience from Lyft, Yun has previous experience working with well-known brands like Pampers, Pantene, and Burger King, where he contributed to the launch of their new app.
We’re very excited for Yun’s insights to help drive transformative change at Blacklane, bringing the best service possible to our customers.

Off the back of our recent investment from Sixt, Mercedes-Benz Mobility and Gargash Group, we have big growth plans to expand Blacklane’s awareness and offering, and are delighted to have Melanie and Yun on-board, whose expertise and ambitions match our own.
