FIA winners ride to awards night with Blacklane

More than 600 FIA delegates, VIP guests, Formula One, Formula E, and World Rally champions rode with Blacklane for FIA’s annual general assembly and awards night, held in St. Petersburg last week.

The world’s leading motorsport stars took some time off in Russia on Saturday night to celebrate their victories at FIA’s annual awards gala, and let professional chauffeur company Blacklane do the driving for them.

Formula One’s 2018 World Champion Lewis Hamilton was among the hundreds of guests who rode with Blacklane, FIA’s Official Transportation Partner for 2018, to the Prize Giving ceremony in St. Petersburg on Saturday night.

The Mercedes driver celebrated 11 victories this year and became the third driver in Formula One to claim five championships.

Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff and Non-Executive Director Niki Lauda won the President’s Award, making Mercedes the second team in history to reach five titles in succession, after Ferrari recorded six-in-a-row between 1999 and 2004.

Mercedes was also one of the luxury brands included in Blacklane’s fleet to give FIA delegates and guests the perfect way to travel across the city for the week-long FIA annual general assembly, which kicked off last Monday.

Blacklane was announced as FIA’s Official Transportation Partner, alongside Official Partners Rolex and Michelin.

This was not the first time FIA had used the global premium mobility service; FIA has previously chosen Blacklane’s service for dozens of other events across a range of cities, including Paris.

FIA guests traveled in a range of premium vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Maserati throughout the week.
