Looking back at GBTA San Diego

Blacklane attended the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) convention in San Diego for the first time this year, and certainly created a lot of commotion, thanks to new service launches that quickly put us in the spotlight.

You can now travel with Blacklane while lowering your environmental impact, as the GBTA also saw the launch of Blacklane’s electric fleet, offering emission-free transfers in Tesla models throughout 20 cities worldwide, with many more to come soon.

The electic fleet enabled us to not only exhibit at our main booth at the GBTA, where a Mercedes-Benz Tetris provided a haven of silence and a unique meeting place, but also at a smaller ICARUS stand, located right in the middle of the main walkway, designed to promote our corporate responsibility initiatives.

Besides our presence throughout the convention and our two big service launches, Blacklane also made a big show outside, with a series of posters lining the sidewalk in front of the convention center, as well as a banner above the main entrance and two Blacklane-branded vehicles circling the premises, offering complimentary shuttle services to guests.

Our CRO, Sascha Meskendahl, added to the buzz with his educational session on “The 11 hidden costs of ground transportation”, which offered attendees the opportunity to learn about the surprisingly opaque pricing structure of other players in the industry.

A huge thanks to the incredible GBTA organizers, who put together one incredible convention, full of industry professionals and countless opportunities to learn and network with our peers.

From the welcome reception to the daily lunches and guests appearances, the efforts of the GBTA did not go unnoticed and a truly fantastic convention was had by all.

Thank you to all of the people that we met at the GBTA, the event organizers and everyone who made the show what it was. We look forward to seeing you in Chicago next year!
